Hi,just a novice - have a few of the Matrix Games, but am now stuck.
I want a company/battalion level WW2 game, with an Editor to experiment with.
Either "Battlefront" or "The Operational Art of War III".
Could anyone advise me which to purchase, please?
Open to any help.

There's a demo for TOAW3 so you can have a free look at it - also, given the eleventy zillion scenarios and mods for TOAW 3 which provide plenty of starting points and examples I'd look at that game first

I curently list 461 scenarios for TOAW III, a tad less than eleventy zillion scenarios but still enough to keep you going. [:)]

Best wishes,

There's also Battles from the Bulge which has a pretty nice command & control system. It has a downloadable demo and the full version has editors.

Yes, I'd second downloading the demo for BfTB and trying it out. The editors free it from any tight dependency on the Bulge/Western Europe  '44/45 theatre as well, if that isn't your bag.

I'd try the Demo for Panzer Command Ostfront and see what you think.

Thanks

This is very important that which game do you want to watch and play. It is depend upon your personnel interest and lots of dedication about that game. I have some important game like matrx,Table tennis, foot ball. You have to select on of it .

See? This is a helpful community where even the spambots give advice! [:D]

Actually I found it easy to get started and play a battle. Figuring out why things happen the way they do is more difficult.

It took me 10 minutes to play through the tutorial and was up and running playing the game. Did I understand everything? Nope, but I was playing and getting it as I went. And, I felt comfortable enough with the game to start a PBEM, and I'm having fun doing that.

Try that with TOAW, WITE, WITP AE, ATD2, ATG, BFTB, and the beat goes on.

For a fun quick boardgame feel with JMASS mods already out and a bunch of scenarios it's one of the best "simple, fun, doesn't take an hour to make a turn" games to come out in a LONG time.

No I'm not ranting, and I'm not picking on anyone either. lol

I thought the tutorial was reasonable enough? I certainly think a novice would be more confident with CC after an evening's play than TOAW3 or even Battlefront. I've nothing against TOAW3 but, in all honesty, I'd recommend WitE to a newb ahead of it! It's OK for the old timers, but I really wonder how many new TOAW players even get past the tutorials? Or even the first one?

I actually recommended CC ahead of the others particularly because of the OP's comment about an editor he could mess about with and presumabkly comne up with something half-decent fairly quickly. CC is ideal for that.

No one, and I mean me, is arguing that TOAW 3 < CC.

But I could...[:'(], uhhhh, that was a typo above, really, just a typo.
