Email button doesn't work.

Ok, I can do PBEM no problem with this game as long as I exit the program when I have made my move.
What doesn't work is the button that says "email" your turn. The game locks up and sits there.
I know I don't push the button anymore, but it would be nice if it worked. Or tell me how to get it to work.
Thanks...

I probably needs you to be using outlook as your default email. Not outlook express maybe. Just a guess.

Section 2.3
ยป Using your favorite E-mail program, locate the correct file in the PBEM
Turns folder and send it to your opponent as an E-mail attachment
I don't think the game automatically sends the turn. Maybe back in the 90s it did.

Thanks Junk2drive. That's what I do now, and I do appreciate your help. I never take responses here for granted and appreciate the thoughtfulness and time you have given on these boards.

The button works for me. I'm using Thunderbird for my e-mails. When I press the button at the end of my turn it opens a new mail automatically with the file attached. All I have to do is add the receipient's address and some witty comment [;)]
Cheers

I think the game generates a MAPI call to the Operating System, so if you have a MAPI compliant email client installed it will simply load up a new mail composition window with the turn attached. If you haven't got a MAPI compliant email client loaded, I'd guess you would see nothing happen. But the game does save the turn file into the appropriate folder. You'd need to attach that to an email to your opponent. Eudora/Thunderbird/Outlook should all support MAPI. I could be wrong and CC might use some obscure mechanism to call up a third party email client, but most software that do this sort of thing use
MAPI.

Just thought - did you check your task bar when you pressed the button? The mail is generated and appears in the task bar only; it doesn't open on your screen.
