Just installed

Well, I just installed.

It told me that my .Net 4 was corrupted and offered to repair it. That was a surprise to me, but I let it. At the end it offered an option to reboot. I said "OK". Seemingly, it started the DirectX update in the middle of the reboot. :) But I think was up to date, and everything seems working.

I wanted to ask if the game will benefit from multiple processors? For the moment, I have assigned it to two, since it seems multi-threaded as you can pan the map while the turn is computed.

Thanks.

---

I wanted to say thank you to Matrix for the free game update from PZK.

I wanted to say thank you to the guys who worked on this mainly for the love of the hobby over the last couple of years. Your level of dedication is indeed impressive.

---

Hopefully, I find some time to spend with this during the next couple of weeks. I had tried PZW/PZK, but didn't really get much beyond training as I found the command system very frustrating. However, I believe my concerns were addressed.

Thanks again.

Don't reboot the first time it asks. Let it install the other two programs, which it says it will repair one and install the other. Then reboot and you should be good.

Good Hunting.

Good, then hopefully we'll start to see comments, AAR's, etc. about your POV on the game in short order...[;)]

Good Hunting.

Yeh, except I am busy with a relocation project NJ -> NM and have very little time for games these days.

But I dumped all the PDFs on my iPad2 so that I can read up on the game while I am out and about. Hopefully, I will find a little time here and there to play. Especially, before my mighty desktop goes into long term storage ... sniffle ... sniffle Then, it will just be chess on the iPad2 for me. No, war ... :(

Enjoy the clear air, mild winters, green chili, and breakfast burritos. Stay away from Texas.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [:D] [:D] [:D]

Well, if you want REAL green chili and breakfast burritos then you have to go to the Lone Star. [8D]

Otherwise, you can stay clear of Texas! [:-]

Good Hunting.

BTW, back to my question ... does allocating more than a single processor to PZO make a difference? Thanks.

PCOWS won an award for multithreading from intel. Yes it uses multicores very well.

My Dad and one sister live in Rio Rancho. Been going there since around 1980 when there was nothing between it and ABQ.

I agree completely on both counts, particularly as regards the "beasts of burden" who apparently made this whole deal possible. I don't begrudge my purchase of the first two games, not one iota. Suffice it to say, then, I'd give Ostfront a strong "buy" recommendation, particularly for anyone who enjoyed the several first-generation Combat Mission games from Battlefront.

Cool!

Well, maybe after I leave the oppressively over priced, green, and humid East Coast, we could all get together and have some down home South West BBQ!

I worry about my wife though ... although NM is the most culturally diverse state in the USA after Hawaii, only 0.2% of the population is Chinese. Time for her to learn some Spanish. (I used to speak some passable Spanish, but it has a NYC Puerto Rican accent de la esquina... not Mexican.)

LOL I took three years of High School Spanish (Castilian) from a NYC Puerto Rican woman. Did me no good whatsoever when I moved to L.A. years later. I do know most of the bad words now though.

He, he, he ... my Spanish was learned hanging out drinking cerveca with the congeros on the stoop between the bodega and botanica. But I did have enough schooling to conjugate a verb here and there when I needed to. My friends said I made the best tostones (fried plantano) in the neighborhood. (The trick was making them Haitian style and double frying after soaking them salt water.)

Gee, I am starting to get hungry for a plate of lechon ...

BTW, I read the tutorial yesterday. Maybe I will get to redo boot camp this weekend. I hope so.

I was sure I asked for CTRL-S hot key save two years ago. Now, my feelings are really hurt. :(

I shall soldier on.

I was reading the tutorial last night. I meant to ask what happens to bound orders with Force60, since the tutorial said with the "classic clock" they bounded every 40 seconds.

It still works, they alternate every 60 seconds though. Make sure you get the updated Boot Camp campaign before you start on that too:

Thanks, Erik.

I already updated my boot camp.

I like being able to vary the unit size. This makes it very easy to spot things on the map. I think that was an enhancement.
