wierd transport situation

I was playing a random campaign battle. I had 3 halftracks and 3 infantry squads. I put the infantry in the halftracks at the setup. A few turns into the battle, I moved the halftracks into a village, unmounted the infantry then the infantry went into 3 different buildings. Several turns later, I move the halftracks to go fight. One of the halftracks gets killed, and suddenly one of the infantry units, which were in a building, is under the halftrack taking enemy fire! It's as if the halftrack was still carrying the infantry. I had this happen before, in another battle, but I ignored it and played on. Now I'm wondering if it is because I loaded the infantry in the setup.[&:]
Should I wait for the first turn to load transports?
Thanks

Depends on what killed the halftrack and what else was going on. Troops dismount in the same direction as when the mounted. Say you mounted the building from the South. Then you moved the halftrack to the spot. A large arty or airstrike hits nearby, destroying the HT and causing the squad to rout and unmount the building. They will unmount to the spot where you moved the HT.

Not saying that this is a good thing, just how it could be.

Loading in setup or turn one should not make a difference.

Ok that is good to know. But the halftrack got killed, by infantry fire, almost half a map away from the unit it was carrying. The infantry unit was not near an enemy in the building. then it just appeared under the halftrack, pulled out of the building that was not even near it. Has no one else seen this?
Thanks

That definitely sounds like a bug, I'm going to move this into the support forum and we'll try to duplicate that issue. If you have a save file that duplicates it, that would be very handy.

I can reproduce the problem. I'll have the saved file sent to the developer.

Great! Do you still need my save? I think I have one from the turn before the halftrack got killed.
Thanks
