I'm on the fence on this one.
But the team should take that as a massive compliment.
I owned all the CM games and really felt I had had my fill of this type of game.
But the developers updates and threads were compelling. A real tribute to the team.
So,for a game that I didn't want, I'm now really considering it.
The campaign is the key.
How is it?

Go to the AAR forum. The AARs are of random campaigns.

There is a really good possibility that there could be a campaign expansion as well.
It's one of the categories we're looking for doing an expansion or 2 or 3....
Good Hunting.

I started the 7th Panzer division short campaign. I got up to the 4th battle and will be restarting..not too many tanks left...[:)] But it's a great campaign with some surprises so far.

So, you can lose tanks in this campaign. I was beginning to wonder with all the Legendary Victories and no losses we've been seeing in the AAR.
Good Hunting.

Hi ezz,
Can you tell us more about what you are looking for in a campaign? Panzer Command has historical campaigns with set scenarios as well as random and semi-random campaigns. In each campaign, your forces follow along from battle to battle and can gain experience, medals and improvements. Your performance is rated at the end of each mission and also at the end of the campaign.
Regards,
- Erik

Sure.
I read the 7th Pz AAR, but as there are no losses its hard to see what happens to the units.
What size is the core force? Is it static or does the core size increase/decrease over the campaign?
Are the crew separate from the vehicle? Can they be transferred?
Do wounds have any effect? Out of action for a period of time or a performance decrease or are they just a record?
What happens to the losses? Are units just replaced for the next battle on a like for like?
But importantly, how does the campaign play. Eg, does it feel immersive or is it just a linking mechanism for random battles. Does it matter if a player loses too many units?
In some campaign games, it doesn't matter how many units are lost, as long as the scenario is won.
In others if too many units have a lack of experience or not enough 'upgrade points' have been earned the player must begin the campaing again as it is impossible to proceed.
In other games each battle must be won in order to progress.
So I was just wondering how this game plays out?

I'll try to answer some of those. Keep in mind that Random Campaigns can be user tailored to fit what you want.
The core force is static throughout the campaign, except for losses of course. The core force is the force that gets "tracked" throughout all the scenarios.
The size of the core force is given in the Campaign briefings and varies depending on the campaign you select.
Crews are not separate from vehicles. Though it is possible to 'lose' a crew member, in which case the tank will suffer penalties. In my experience, these have always been replaced in the next battle though. Expericence and be gained in a campaign, or lost if you have to replace some of the units in the core force. Medals can also be won, and these do affect the unit's performance. In fact, without gaining experience and medals, you'll be hard pressed to succeed in later battles of a campaign.
there is a "HQ help" feature that will let you get more points for replacing your losses if you really decide you need it. There are also "replacement level" settings that you can use when you start a campaign - though yo have to select them at the beginning of the campaign for them to have any affect.
Random campaigns can be a lot of fun. I'm anxious to see some folks play the 3rd Pz Random as it has some historical "key battles" as well as options for adding randomly generated battles. It will be interesting to see what folks think of those.
Thanks
Rick

I'll add to that. If you lose a battle you can chose to Skip or Replay that battle. After creating the random campaign, you can chose the difficulty level at which you play each battle. Difficulty changes the amount of points the AI or you gets to spend, not the ability of the AI.
So you could play at easy level and breeze right through, then play it again on normal or hard or however you chose.
Upgrades are not handled like Panzer General where you get points to upgrade a PZIII to a PZIV.
