I saw somewhere, I don't remember where something about arriving airgroups will arrive without planes if there are none in the pool at the time the group arrives. Does this apply both for Allies and Axis? In other words if an airgroup is scheduled to arrive in 1 day with Hurricanes and there are none in the pool, the group will arrive without any aircraft? Also does this apply to both ship and land based groups? Would someone be able to clarify how this works?

They will come back empty. I have a number of bolo squadrons with 0 aircraft and none in the pool.

Only if those are returning disbanded groups. If they are fresh arrivals, you can set number of planes in the editor, and those planes are free.
