Can you show a screen shot with the easier-to-see hex borders? I was told that there were three options, something like: 1) No hex borders 2) Faint hex borders 3) Easier-to-see hex borders. I guess with these graphics easier-to-see means darker.

Correct. There are three levels: None, Subtle and Strong.

I play with Subtle on, and still, I don't have any problem in discerning the hexes.
