The gameplay reminds me a lot of the Clue! in 1994.

Just like here at Frozen Synapse there was a planning mode in which you planned your funny criminal steps to finally enjoy your plan in "life" by pressing the "start"-button.

The Clue! then was (on my new Amiga system) my absolute favorite. [:)]

I would like to see the user opinions here just before I maybe buy Frozen Synapse.

I love it. I've been participating in the FS beta since last year.  Of course, there is some room for improvement here (such as some new game modes, especially being able to purchase units at the start of a MP game), but the devs are committed to adding improvements and new stuff. 

As I wrote in a preview I did a few weeks ago, the gameplay far exceeds the meager price.

PS: If I had to pick a game it reminded me of the most, I would say Laser Squad Nemesis. Hopefully FS will prove to have more longevity than that game that was abandoned all too early. [:(]
