Here's the second dxdiag (64-bit). I hope someone can tell me wher I wandered from the strait and narrow...I am really looking forward to this mod.

I'm not too sure either[&:]...I have a dual-core 64-bit processor in my PC. When I ran dxdiag, it generated the regular DX diag file. HOWEVER, there was a (virtual) button on the DX dialog box that said, "Run 64-bit diag?" I clicked on it, and it generated another report, called 64-bit diag. [:)] I included the second file in my follow-up post, as I did not know if the second report contained any useful information. [8|] I can interpret most of the regular DX Diag file, but am clueless about the 64-bit Diag file...I just included it because the PC has a 64-bit processor, and SOME of the programs I run are 64-bit programs.

I STILL can not get the CEaW Gold "Strategic Game" to run, although I DO have the Manual, and a quick start file. Do you have to own the Slitherine game to run the new upgrade... or am I ?

I tried installing the upgrade CEaW Gold v2.0 game in the default (Slitherine) directory, and it wouldn't run...all I got was the options screen at startup, then nothing.

NEXT, I uninstalled the whole thing (CEaW Gold too, deleted respective directories, removed related registry entries for CEaW, CEaW Gold v1.12, and CEAW Gold V2.0 ("Strategic"), rebooted and

1) did a full install of (serial number & all) of CEaW.

2) Used the v1.12 upgrade to convert CEaW to (Matrix) CEaW Gold.

3) Made sure 1.12 (CeAW Gold) ran properly.

4) Rebooted, and installed the v2 upgrade (from Matrix Forums).

5) THIS time I installed the v2 upgrade into the Matrix Games\Commander Europe at War Gold directory. Clicking on the shortcut gave exactly the same results as the first (Slitherine directory) install.
6) Clicking on the CEaW Gold icon (In the Matrix Games\CEaW Gold dirctory TRIED to start the game...I got as far as the FLASHING Red Icon that says gAME LOADING (blink...Loading...blink...(OVER AND OVER); The program seemed to be in a loop.

Any idea on what I am doing wrong? (Other than using too many of these smileys)?
