Well the official development forum and all Beta testing is at Slitherine`s forum, and we see that Facebook and Twitter also get more popular following the latest news.
After release this will be solved, no doubt.

I actually had a similar worry back when MG was doing the TOAW re-release. Didn't understand why there wasn't a massive crowed in these forums. It seems after the fall of Talonsoft, 98% of the huge community that was into all the TOAW sites & ladders just died and never returned.
Rumour has it the hardcore grognards were all WWI & WWII vets who simply died of old-age by the time TOAW was re-released.

Is there any news posts re Talonsoft's demise. I'd be interested in reading it. What about SSI also? Both companies left me and I am still here!

I don't know, maybe the world has moved on. We, or most of us, have very fond memories of PG, so we are all potential customers. Or maybe were like: oh been there and done that...
It's the same with Steel Panthers, that game rocked back then. If it would be re-released and updated to the latest effects/graphics/UI you can think of... would it *still* be a major release?

All we can measure this by is, evaluating the feedback we got from the new fresh testers we added last week on RC1, it was a mix of new and veteran players, looking at those first impressions, the general mood is they love it and get addicted again quite fast.
There are still some small things to improve and we will address them. We encountered a few minor bugs, the game is very stable and overall the feedback we got is overwhelmingly positive. It doesn`t say we are there yet, but for us a sign we are definitely on the right track.
I quote what I wrote yesterday on the main Slitherine forum:
Panzer Corps however, by design is much more light, it is set around historic events, but the focus here is more fun gameplay set in a WW2 historic cadre. It is easy to learn hard to master, finding that mix that allows simplicity at first, but more depth when playing more is very hard to achieve. Attracting new players to the genre and at the same time satisfying veteran players is very tricky.
We hope and believe we found that tricky balance in Panzer Corps.
I hope you guys give it a try.
Cheers,
Tim aka LZ

I would buy an updated Steel Panthers in a credit card second too!

Redo the great ones!
Clash of Steel
Panzer General etc.
Steel Panthers etc.
V for Victory Series
Avalon Hill Games (Stalingrad, Third Reich etc.)
Also, can anyone redo High Command to make it great?

I hope this version doesn't revolve around the monotonous goal of victory hex assaults where different defending combinations are used, rehashed again, over and over.[>:]

To be honest, I never did get too much involved in the Steel Panthers branch. I know it had many good things said about it, but during the time of its era, I just didn't run into many friends ever wanting to get into it.
