hey guys,

I have both games and when i started playing PON. i kept thinking of COG and how a gem of a game it is. also, It really surprised me that most game reviewers did not mention COG as a comparison.

I think if someone put together a couple of long video AAR's playing a nation, it would bring allot more people back to this game. I know that Pride has a couple of features that this game does not have, but what POA and others lack is the dual strategic map and battle maps. you could argue the empire total war has this feature, but i say it sucks in strategic depth. especially, on the world map.

I just hope the devs are working on another expansion or even a new engine to accommodate enhanced maps with a larger game world.

Gotta say I'm loving PoN so far, but COGEE is a great multi-player experience that will only get better when finally patched. Looking forward to kickign off some new campaigns once the patch is released.

I agree, PoN really needs patches on speeding up game turns, perhaps via the ability to utilize multi-core processors.
I'm running it on a quad-core i7 CPU and it's taking 3-4 minutes to process each turn, which is frankly ridiculous.

with a game that has over 1000 tuns + it would take forever to finish the game let alone lost your file half way in.

thats just too much time to invest in a game.

If the developers make an expansion or just make new one with a new engine there are a couple things that could be changed for sure.  My first choice would be the special abilities of units.  A units ability to perform acts on the field of battle should really be benefits they receive from their leader...ie leadership rating for attack/defense, inspiration, tactical rating, ect.  The units should still have their own moral and experience ratings that would impact their ability to withstand enemy fire and deliver sustained and accurate fire themselves while under fire.
