Translation

Hello.
After searching on these forums without success, I told myself I could post a message (sorry if it has already been asked).
The game is in English and some players would benefit a lot from a translation in other languages.
I am french and I am volonteer to help translating the game in my language.
Can I do that (I mean.. legally) ?
Do other french players other there want to help me in this project ?
It seems we would "just" have to translate all .mht files in the /Help folder and all .txt files in the /Dialog one.

Hi xanax and welcome to the forum....I think work is being done in this direction but better contact the Matrix people directly for this or at least post this in the tech support section.

They have announced previously that they were making a German version.
So maybe a French version is being made. So you might wanna find out officially before doing the work yourself.
Plus they might also be able to tell you how to do it.
As for finding out if they are working on a French version, the only thing I can suggest is to start a Tech Support Thread.
However my bug reports have gone unanswered for over a month, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
**Just telling it how it is. Those bug reports took hours to make. GRRR.**

Feedback would be nice but given the fact that each time Elliot descends in the tech support section he checks a couple of dozens of bug reports with "bug fixed in the next patch" we can only assume that he's already aware of them and fixing them.

I have a question, i will buy the German Version of the game but i dont know if this works with the english mods, anyone know?

Good question, umpa, welcome to the forum.
Afaik currently most mods include images and sound but not text. I think there are a few that include text so you may end up with both german and english but that's for the modders to actually confirm.
Or you can check the mods you like, see what files they include and if there is any text involved.

There are a few mods that include dialogue files (or dialog, the american spelling). These are the diplomatic communications between empires.

Ah okay. Do you know it is possible to play with the german version with some kind of this mods? Also that i have then togheter German and English dialogues? Or will the game Crash?
And another question:
When i like the game and want to buy the Addon was in English is, can i install it over the german version? Because is has a another publisher's...
PS: Sorry for my English, i hope you can understand the Text...^^'

I'm afraid I don't know. Elliot or Erik could answer this. They don't come into the design and modding forum very often though.
You could try playing these mods with the German version. I don't know if it'll work or not.
As for the addon, I don't know either. It would depend on if the disc comes with multi language. I don't think you can install one in English and one in German.
Feel free to start a thread in the main forum with these questions, Umpa. It will have more chance of Erik or Elliot seeing it.
