recovering from fatigue

Hi. Recently purchased CO:BfTB and am very impressed overall with the detail and depth. I am starting out with scenario #1: Hofen and have been stymied by fatigue which is really preventing me from moving on any objectives.

As per the mannual if a unit is not moving say has a "defend" order ( and is not under fire) their fatigue should decrease. However, this is not what I am experiencing at all. All my "defending" units whether out of sight of the enemy or not continue to increase their fatigue levels until either they just default to "rest" or night falls and then they switch over to a rest command. When they are resting their fatigue decreases, but as far as I can tell this is the only circumstance under which this will happen.

Has anyone had similar issues? Or am I missing something?
Thanks.

Hi buzznaut,

Yes, the fatigue and fatigue recovery issues have been discussed throughly in many discussion threads in this forum.

While there are IMO many who underestimate just how hard, terrible and fatiguing is war in general, and how harsh winter conditions were in this campaing in particular, the developers said in several occasions that there might be room for some fine tuning of the simulation engine, especially in the department of fatigue recovery when resting and defending without actual fire engagement.

Even if I personally am not sure about this, it is likely that some of this will be addressed in the next patch.

Cheers.
