CTD - Bridge Construction

Occasionally I see a CTD (CmdOps has encountered a problem windows dialogue and closes) when calc'ing the new routes on bridge completion.
I try to pause the game at this point (my machine is slow, so this is the effect anyway), but it won't always crash if I forget... it seems that it does if artillery (or general firing) is very active at the time however... The sound breaks up before the crash (SBLive, P4 2.4GHz, XP).
If it is important, I usually am running in low speed anyway unless very little is going on, when I might use short periods of top or run-until.
It might be nice to have an option to pause the game automatically before doing the re-calc (as well as trapping whatever is causing the CTD on a low end machine). Frequently the player (or AI) will want to replan at this point anyway...
FWIW I think it would need to be pause - recalc - advance 1 minute - pause, in order for the new terrain table to be in use?
