Andrew,

Still there? I was wondering, looked at the DATA.TEC file. We wouldn't by any chance be able to customize weapons by say mucking around with this file would we?
:D

Sure am. The data.tec file can't be changed without messing things up. It's not a simple text file. It also doesn't contain the important stuff about the technologies. One of the bonehead development mistakes I made in the game was to include only part of the technology information in data files instead of all of it. The good stuff is hardcoded in the program itself. Not making those kind of mistakes for the game I'm working on now.

A 1-2 player naval wargame in 3D. From ironclads to submarines and everything in between.

Hmmm?

Andrew, I was just checking this site out as I really enjoy space conquest like games. I liked Ascendancy until I realized the AI was vacuous (maybe 2 hours into it......jeeez). What naval game ya workin' on?

Still not ready to commit too many details, as it's still a bit early. It will be a 1-2 player turn-based game in which you manage and fight your naval ships in combat. I'm trying hard to make this an easy-to-get-into game (unlike Starships Unlimited). There should be a fair amount of depth but will be more tactical than strategic. As it's not really based on any game from the past, it should provide a fresh perspective on the subject. Visit my website (www.apezone.com/about.htm) for continuing development reports.
