Does my General feel insulted?

In preparation for my first blizzard, Ive changed commanders of several corps with Generals who are qaulified to run larger formations. Ive noticed they lose some of their skill rating in one category or another. For example, recently I put Raus in charge of a 9th army corp under Model. He lost one point off his mech rating when I did this. Another general lost a point off Morale when I put him in charge of corp. Is there a penalty for putting high ranking Generals in corp commander roles? I cant find anything about this in the manual.

This annoys me as well. I try to maximize my commanders, even if it's only a 1 point boost in whatever rating. Seems completely pointless when I see that my new commander, who I inserted to get a 1 point boost in Inf rating then has his Inf rating decreased by 1 point. What the heck was the point? I know it dosen't happen all the time, but it just dosen't quite make sense.

I would not want the Devs to post all their LL from years of work, but this seems a "should be in the manual" type thing ( if it isn't

)

put a major general (Divisional commander) in a corps command there is a chance he will lose a point. It's in the manual.
Generalleautnant (sp?) and above in a corps command should not lose a point. If it happened, it is a bug and you should post in the Tech Support forum

New job, new environment, new staff, chanage in scope. They will need to adjust. This decrease in points is a way to simulate that reality.

That and a bunch of passed-over Prussian blue bloods feeling miffed that Hitler's pet got combat command. I bet a lot of couriers get "lost" going to that CP.

This is in the manual - the way to avoid it is to wait until they are ready for that command before assigning them to it. If you see the "P" next to the cost of assigning them to that command, it means you are promoting them over their current level and risk a reduction in their abilities.
