Sealion 1940

Just for fun battle. I had the thought to make a Sealion scenario with Lend Lease British units. The start date for these is 11/41. I started the scenario editor and set the date to 11/30/1941. I named the battle 11/41 Sealion 1940. If Sealion would have happened it probably would have been in 1940, following the victory in France. Most people agree that it would have failed for many reasons. But on our computers we can ignore reality and have fun.

First you need to be using Jones Software Generic Mod Enabler. Extract the files into your mod folder for JSGME. Then install with JSGME. This mod requires the beta update or 1.01 depending on when you read this.

I decided that I needed a Marmon-Harrington armoured car for recon. I used the BA-64 and made a new xml. I also wanted to test out the recon attribute with troops. I created scout teams from sniper teams. Recon adds a sighting bonus. It doesn't help on maps of 1k or less. This battle uses a 1500m map by Mad Russian that is already in the game.

I played a random battle vs Rick and I had mostly Matilda IIs for armour. I was surprised at how well they stood up against his German guns. And they can kill too.

You will play this as British (Soviet) vs the AI. You get a platoon of Matildas, a platoon of ACs, a platoon of scouts, and two platoons of Home Guard troops.

You need to take the 100 point flags and hold them.

When I played this, I was able to take the outer flags but not the middle. It took me 25 turns to kill enough German tanks and take the flags to peg the needle for a victory. The turns go quickly as there are few units.

I hope you enjoy this and let me know how you do.

One of the Marmon-Harrington cars sets up in a house. So that has to be fixed. Also I modified my version so the British could use Art of War orders.

I didn't have a MH in a house in mine so it must be borderline. I allowed SOW for the Brits as the Home Guard was not too savvy.
