hi again,

after a learning game (i totaly messed up the first axis turns while marc played a great soviet game) i went to the bootcamp and am back&ready for another game.

i realy needed several hours to make turn one and i realy dont think that at least i can get a better turn one then this one:

AGN and AGC:

standard "riga and pocket". nothing special-



AGS: lvov pocket and some additional armor units trapped in turn one. tried to not let him to cut off my panzers in his turn.



AC loses so far.



loses after the axis turn one.

Good solid opening move to get Barbarossa going!!

I'm not happy if I don't destroy 4500+ Sviet aircraft in the first week, so 4700+ is a good start.

Humm... so you send Guderian's PzGruppe 2 south of the Pripet! Very interesting... you might miss them to make further encirclement in the center. On the other hand, Southwestern and Southern Fronts are facing a serious challenge...

the situation in the north. i made a breakthrough via infantry and a rush for the city of novogrod. main body of his northern front is near pskov:



in the south infantry made the way free through his carpet and 2 fully supplied PGs advanced through the lines building a pocket in the south while forcing the rest of the southern front into the swamps and getting into kiev at the dnjepr. bad thing is that i had not enough MP to create a ZOC over the river. also most of the industry in kiev was evacuated.:



i see i should upload the pictures in a bigger format next time so one can read the numbers even without a glass.

South is wide open for you now, race for the production centers.

North and Center look ok so far.

You tracking how many production units you have destroyed?

I agree, the south looks very promising; it's tough early-on because SW Front has the best units, but you have done a great job neutralizing them.

The Southern Pocket appears breakable near that Cav unit inside the pocket, but you should be able to re-seal it without any units escaping next turn.

The guys pinned against the swamp are key; he should rail them all out this turn and set-up to defend D-Town and Z-town, but that will be a major pain. If he doesn't rail them out, they will probably all die eventually, especially the mobile units. Either way, you force him to use valuable rail capacity.

Kiev industry is easy to move, but you are reaching a point where it will take several turns to evacuate everything in front of you. Keep an eye on Kharkov, if I were him I would move the T-34s now, but if he doesn't take advantage of that. He also needs to think about the Leningrad KV-1 plant right now.

I guarantee if you keep pressing in the south at this rate, you will start overrunning lots of industry, though I also bet you have fuel problems next turn.

its realy a great game by garry. one can stick for several hours by a single turn and plan to manage a breakthrough like the one in the south. and when its accompilished its like hanibal from A-team said "i love it when a plan works"..at least in the german version.[;)]

thanks for the input so far. i will try to get the industry in the south. with 2 PGs there the chance should be not bad to get in the stalino area fast. same goes for leningrad. 2 PG should be able to cut off the city fast.

but the advance in N and S has a price. i can only make slow progress in the center. but someone has to set priorities and can not acchieve all against a good opponent.
