I noticed from looking at the stats for the 2pdr gun that is has an anti-armor rating of ZERO. I expected this for Anti-soft, since it didn't come with HE rounds, but if it penetrates armor, shouldn't it explode?

Is this WAD? Or are the useless? Just wondering.....

Brit 2 pounders shot strictly armor piercing slugs. No shells as these were considered more difficult to manufacture and make stable enough to get through the armor of a tank.

Basically the idea was a 2 pounder slug would hit the tank armor, penetrate and use the armor fragments (plus itself) to go bouncing around inside the tank for damage.

This is also what the Tungsten APDS rounds did as well. They were not shells.

Maybe the 'anti-armor' number is the armor penetration for the non-existent HE? ( Penetration is specifically the AP round rating? )

What does that mean in GAME terms? Does that mean they are useless vs. tanks?

apparently it was slightly better than the german 37mm

calibre -40mm
penetration v armour 60 degree slope
54mm @ 500 yards
41mm @ 1000 yards

Sorry I didn't respond sooner but I didn't expect to find a technical question in this section of the forum. The Anti-Armor rating (an uninformative title if there ever was one) refers to the effectiveness of High Explosive ammo firing at armored targets. Since the 2 Pounder doesn't have a high explosive round available in the game (one was produced by rarely issued) the Anti-Armor value is zero.

The effectiveness of anti-tank rounds is measured by the Penetration (standard AP), HVAP (APCR, APDS) or HEAT (High Explosive Anti-Tank) values.
