How do you tell if a unit on a map is a core unit or not?

For instance the first scenario in the 1939-1945 campaign says I can purchase 4 core units. Are there any core units already on the map? I can't tell. [&:]

Core units use golden border, aux units - silver one. This is true for both unit strength plates on the map and frames in unit list (togglable panel which lists all units you have)
