Custom Scenario not working

I've created a custom scenario, however, when I go to play it in the game both sides are illuminated on the map and I can move both as though I'm playing myself. Obviously I'm missing something, but what?
Thanks!

When you create a new scenaro, it is recommended to assign nations to different sides as one of the first things you do. This is done in Edit->Scenario Params, Nations tab. Then, when you place units on the map, they will get assigned to correct side based on your nations assignment. Otherwise the game has no idea which units belong to which side (e. g. USSR and USA are on the same side in Germany scen, but on different sides in Urban Warfare scen).

Doh! I placed the units on the map before I set up the scenario parameters for which nation was Axis and which was Allied.
Never mind! [:o]

Next question: I gave the axis 15 core slots and 2000 in prestiege. However, when I open the scenario and go to purchase units, there are no units available to purchase. [:o]
EDIT: Never mind again. I had 1938 in the scenario properties instead of 1939. Guess there are no units available in 1938.

Yes, wrong date might be the cause, but also keep in mind that any units predeployed on the map also occupy slots.

Don't forget to share with us when you are happy with your new scenarios...

I'm working on what I hope will be the second scenario in my own grand campaign right now. I'll do a stand alone scenario version to release independently. Basically in the campaign you will start out as a commander in the German Eigth Army in Army Group South. Your objectives are to push toward Lodz and then Warsaw.
So far I'll start out with:
#1: Fall Weiss: September 1st (not started yet)
#2: Fall Weiss: Warsaw (almost done)
So Poland will be two scenarios total.

Don't forget to have some Polish reserves, like a TP and two infantry behind the line in an area. Then set them to attack. Otherwise the AI will just garrison everything around a city.

How do you set particular units to attack versus defend? Is there some sort of AI script? I don't see a menu item for it. [&:]

Click edit choose units, then go to pallette filter, choose any country in your scenario.
Hover mouse over unit you want to change. Read note in bottom window. Note what type of unit it is. then make sure to center the curser over the unit. Shift click and window opens.
If you don't do it correctly you can replace the unit on the map with the one you have highlighted. If that happens, then you go back a place the correct unit then start over again.
Make sure a unit is in every polish city otherwise the AI will buy units and place them in the city. Give the AI more prestige than the Germans to start and more per turn.
Set up defense for Poland or AI will screw the map up.
In areas you want to lightly defend and allow the AI to retreat or attack... set unit as passive defense.
Give the AI one more fighter plane and one more bomber than the Germans.
You can always post a link or PM me to send me the map and I can help.
I would suggest making that city in the bottom right a secondary objective and have that in the victory conditions for Decisive victory.
Make sure it is well protected with units.
Make the human split his force if he wants a major victory. Choke points and having units around each hex of that city will make the scenario good. You can always make the units smaller in strength through the same shift click.. If you don't place units in each hex... the AI will waste its prestige to buy and place there.
