For each star, experience bonus is +1 or +10% from the base stat value, whichever is smaller. Bonus is applied to initiative, attack and defense.

Not sure what you mean by odds preview, but showing exp bonuses in the sidebar might be a good idea.

Yes of course, as well as all other factors effecting the combat.

Terrain of attacker's hex does not effect the combat in any way, only defender's hex matters.

The logs you posted explain why the results are different. Grenadiers have 1 more strength and a higher attack ratings than pioneers. But pioneers, as well as all other military engineers (units with flamethrowers), have a special ability to ignore enemy's entrenchment level. So, against grenadiers the enemy gets +4 to defense from entrenchment, but against pioneers it does not get this bonus. For this reason, pioneers can actually score 1 kill more than grenadiers in this particular combat.

why the unsupressed strength is diferent?
how to count the number of the unsupressed strength during one fight?
how to count the ratio of miss, suppress, kill ?
