German language?

Hi there...

I bought Panzer Corps a few minutes ago, after I saw that in the Gameinfo stands: Languages: EFIGS
I guessed that G stands for German. So now after the installation there is no German at all.
Maybe i must download a different client?

Hi Daishi

it is only in English currently so the website has bad data unfortunately. We are working on transaltions but don't have an ETA on them yet.

Well, then you better change the bad data into: English (other languages in common).

I hope, after the translation, there will be an german-patch?

Sorry for the confusion.

Localization is ongoing and some languages are done, or almost finished. We will offer free patches, once a language is available, to patch your English version into a language of your choice. Be sure we will announce it as soon as German is available. We just cannot give an exact date yet, we are all working hard though.

The issue is not the translation - the issue is the German release at retail. We need to synch up the release of the German version with the retail release. We're trying to confirm the retail dates for that but its difficult because so many people are on holiday.

Unfortunately the website that says the game is available in other languages is nothing to do with us and we don't have any way to update it. Generally once they post news/info it is almost impossible to get them to correct it so we have to be careful we only send out one message, which is a correct one. We've definitely never said the game was available in EFIGS so I dont know where they got that from :( We've tried to be very clear that the game is only available in English and other languages will follow later.

I can't understand what the German retail has to do with the German language patch. Why do you need to sync both? If the language patch is ready, please give it to us.
Otherwise I bought a game and can't play it by now, because me english is not that good [:(]

Either way, I hope the waitingtime is not that long...

Well apparently your english *is* good enough. Besides you don't need to understand the english language to play PC.
But I agree with you that a German version would be very much appreciated by a large group of potential PC buyers.
So get that German patch rolling / cracks whip [;)]

The German is not ready yet - it will be about 6 weeks until it is complete and we have contractual obligations that we have to keep. If we want to release at German retail, which we do, we can't release the German version online before the retail version. We hope there will not be a long delay between it being complete and being able to release and will do our best to minimise any delays. We want you guys to have the German version as much as you do!

Is there a way to translate it by own. Which csv or text files has the localization texts for the German language? [&:] I am sure there are already some players who would like to do some work.

6 weeks or longer waiting for the German version is much too long...[:-]

I checked the files and there's a lot of ASCII files where you have to translate things.
And viewing the EXE some messages seem hardcoded but I'm not sure if this is really used. So for me waiting for any language it seems better to wait until released.

However if there's UI text hidden in the EXE it would be better to 'outsource' them so it's easier to mod them. If there's any text hidden in the EXE file.

What about the manual? Will there be a full translated German manual?

I have been waiting for the German release now several weeks. Will it be out soon or do I have to continue waiting? As you mentioned earlier in this thread it will take about six weeks but still I have not seen a German relase nor a language file.

We are going to start testing soon and we expect the retail release to be some time in November.
