Manpower/Production Questions

O.K., so far I have figured out (correct me if wrong) that the manpower levels effect the replacement levels of divisions, and the creation of new units.

While this is fairly straight forward for the Soviet player,
how does it work for the Axis Player?
I ask this question becasue of the problems of the Axis allies -
Does the Axis have one combined manpower pool, or several seperate ones?i.e.: Do Romanian units only get replacemnets from Romanian cities, Italians only from Italian cities, and Germans only from Germany?

The Axis pool is shared among all the nations, for both manpower and equipment. One other note, manpower does not affect new units, which are already setup to enter on a specific date with a set level of manpower and equipment. The manpower reserves will only affect how quickly they grow from there, if not full strength.

Thank you!

But some more related questions...

If manpower pools reflect replacements, how many squads replacements do I get per manpower point? or per 100 points if its easier to calculate.

Also, does bombing have any impact on manpower? Like sometimes just get the message that "Berlin sustained massive damage' - does this effect industries in the city(dosn't seem so, or does it effect manpower)?

Also, something i've wanted to know for months - how many men exactly make up a squad?

Veer,
with message showed above you hit the manpower of the city, when your bombers target industry then you get a message expaining which factory was damaged e.g. "Oil industry sustained light damage".

In WiR squad is made up from 50 men.

50 men per squad?

The combat screen has been adjusted to report the # of casualties @ 50 men per squad.

As this was an adjustment to the combat report....somehow, i am less convinced that this is the city production "manpower" required to "create" a squad...replacement or otherwise.

I've been under the impression that the replacements you get into the pool every turn is the sum of the city manpower/population values multiplied by some value dependent on the year. And that all the values are already in squads.

Also I think there's some sort of an algorithm based on the amount of squads in the pool at the moment that determines how many squads a division will get per turn, when below the replacement level strength.

I think there was a post regarding this quite a while back...
