What has one to do with the other you might ask?

Best add I've seen in a longlong time. [:D]

It's iPhone/Pad only and as I don't do iPhones and stuff (only Android) I'll have to look for an Android chopper. It's only 50 hard earned US dollahs, which is about, oh, 10€ ... But I definitely want one now.

Cool gadget huh? My brother in law used to have a remote controlled helicopter... about 600 dollars [:D] LOL
It was so difficult to control he gave it away for free after a while, hehe, but these toys look fun, easy to control and not too expensive. On the other hand, 40 dollars/ euros is the max I would give for something like that.
I did a search and there seems to be a French company developing something similar for Android phones.

I think the battery life for one run through is less than the time of the promo....

Is it just me or is the 'cool' bit that it can be controlled on a phone? A phone that isn't any different and adds nothing new over a conventional a controller?
What's the biggie? These have been out, sans phone controller, for least 5 years now.
The saving in not supplying a remote is passed on in a lower price?

I have a similar mini copter. About $60.
They're ok. About 15mins flight time for 45 min charge. Difficult to trim though, so tends to roller-coast flight.
Fun for kids.

To be honest, the ad probably has much higher entertainment value than the product[:'(].

Isn't that usually the case for all product promos?....[:D]

Yeah well, beside the fact that the ad was ... awesome [:D] I was maybe a bit carried away with all the things my smartphone can do. I bought a Samsung Galaxy SII a while ago, replacing an aging Nokia, and all these Apps and what have you.. it boggles the mind. Almost endless free games (I installed Pong on it, and I *still* suck at it! LOL), there's this App called "Layar" that does augmented reality... really cool. It lets you look at planes high in the sky and the App tells you what kind of plane it is, what company and where it's heading too. And I could go on and on... anyways... long story short... so now I discovered this kidstoy [:D] so *now* you can even fly a chopper with your phone.
Oh, and in the not too distant future we will be able to pay by phone too via NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. For Androids that would be 2012 the earliest.
