Name change invalids scenario

I don't have a clue of the editor, all I wanted was to change a formation name, I did that but now I get the message:
Caution this scenario is not fully defined
Use Edit Forces to assign all force 1 units. (critical)

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

1) Un-assign the units attached to the formation you wish to change the name. 2)Change the name of the formation. 3) Re-assign the units. Or: Use Notepad++ to search & replace for the name of the formatiomn; it will also change the assigned units to the new formation name.

Hope that helps,

Do you know if renaming in such way does in anyway harm the scenario? Maybe events or so?
I just want to make sure that simply renaming them doesn't kill the whole scenario.

You should take a dump, then run a search for the original unit name to see what you find, and then run a search for the new name, to make sure you not duplicating.

[:D] I'll try my best![:D]

Now serious naming different formations with the same name, what problems can that make?
I have here several HQs each in its on formation but all these formations are named "Rum HQ's", will this be a problem?

Same names is ok, but ... if you have an event that is keyed on a formation (or unit) name, the event will default to the first formation/unit in the oob. Therefore, there could be unintended problems.

Also, please name them differently, it makes troubleshooting much easier. Think of the future generations that will be dealing with these issues.

Thanks I will check that.

Do see it right that I still can't get ä & ü into the game?
At least not in editing events, unit names, etc., scenario briefing works.

You can, if you use Andy's scenario editor or Notepad++ ;)

As do I. Does that idiom translate to Swedish?
