Questions about setup phase and random battle gen

Hi everybody, first of all I want to say that this game is awesome and one of my favourite. I've been playing it for a while but not so much as I would like to due to other commitments.
I have two questions about setup phases and generated maps.
I have generated a map I like very much with the edit a map "slider" function. Now I would like to play a random scenario on it but I saw that edited or sliders generated maps cannot be imported in the "generate random battle function".
So I created an OOB and using the "edit a scenario" function I started associating the OOB with the generated map I like. But of course I don't want to place both sides on the map myself otherwise I will already know something about the other side deplyment controlled by the CPU. So, if I place the unit on the map in a casual way and then start the Scenario with the SCENARIO SELECTOR and the setup phase box ticked, can I be sure that the CPU side will also use this setup phase to place the unit in a sensible and appropriate way, or the setup phase is only regarding the Human player?
If it is involving the AI side too then I have found a way to play a random battle with my "sliders" generated map. Otherwise I wonder what should I do with it if I don't want to place and setup the AI sides in the editor.
The second question is quicker: the "generate a battle" function generates maps in the same beautiful and detailed way of the "sliders - edit a map" function?
Thanks a lot and hope my questions are understandable enough, I love this game and I'm trying to understand the "random battles" aspect of this great product.
