The cache can be built by the downloader if wanted*, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
It speeds up map-draws, but isn't required for functioning.
Very nice to get some additional maps, thanks for making the effort [&o]

You are very welcome...I believe I have it now... Yes, I guess the cache is not really that important...I am glad I can now spend some time on scenario design...

Wanted to report a slight error to those who have downloaded the map.I missed a piece of road at a stream crossing near Blenod-les-Pont-a-Mousson.I did not place any road bridges at the stream crossings...only at Rivers and canals. A minor error on the map but an error nonetheless. It is of course an easy fix with the map maker. So easy to miss something on a large map.Makes me wonder about crossings.I know I read in the map maker manual that if a road is too close to a stream or river it can create a crossing.I wonder if it is necessary to completely cross the stream/river with the road if the road comes up so close to the stream/river?

Streams can (depending on your map data) be crossed by mechanised formations (arguable whether this should be so easy).
Unless you have prohibited mechanised movement in stream terrain, bridges are unnecessary, and in some cases are best left off to avoid a clutter of bridges.
You can test whether the crossing is passable by routeing across the water obstacle using shortest/motorised, and an offset to one side of the crossing. If the water obstacle is passable, then the route is a 'straight line', if the water is impassable, but the route is good, then it will be made at the nearby crossing point, while if the crossing is broken, the route will bypass a long way to find a suitable crossing/detour.
This can be done in game, in SM, or alternatively (and preferably, as you can repair as you go) in MapMaker itself.

I have made the streams to be uncrossable by mechanized units and very slow for non motorized units. It has been my experience over years of hunting, trapping and fishing that most streams are uncrossable by vehicles due to either high water or steep banks. Of course there are exceptions in certain places and some types of vehicles may be better able to pass through an area than others. I did fix the small track of road missing going over the stream and also may adjust a few of the extra details on the map before I release the scenario, which should be by this coming weekend. I did not place any bridges at the stream crossings, just over the canals, to try and avoid the clutter you mention. There are still a lot of bridges on the map. Hopefully players will edit my maps and scenarios to their liking although I imagine some may not wish to do so. [:)]

Found another slight error while finishing placing the U.S. objectives.Accidentally placed a road bridge instead of a railroad bridge near Luneville. Corrected this and also put in a road and two bridges at the far south eastern part of the map in the Bayon area...the Bayon bridge was a historical objective though I believe the map does not quite reach far enough south to include Bayon.
