Ok, I've got enough experience to outsmart the AI, time to try a human opponent.
Anybody interested in a 2-3000 point game?

Ok, I've downloaded the ZIP, now what?
The manual isn't helping much.
Also, which OOB, and how do I get THAT?
What about that PBEM helper program I can't seem to find?

OK now you've got the ZIP.

Unzip all files into the Steel Panters World At War/Email folder!

When you're donep playing, look into the same folder and ZIP all files belonging to that game. (you'll find out which they are, and it also says when you've entered the password starting your turn)

Now you should see the game appear in the save game list under the PBEM menu.

You shouldn't change OOB's at all. If you do, make sure your opponents got the very same one! Otherwise things can be very strange. :)

The PBEM helper program is around somewhere, but I don't think it's either here on Matrixgames or @ Fabio's Armor Site. I'm not sure if you can use it with web-based email. I couldn't find out a way. If you have a "real" email then it shouldn't be a problem

It looked like Vetkin and Jeffery1965 were trying to hijack your thread Katana.

YOUR TURN

The French are surprised by the paratrooper assault behind enemy lines. I must admit I was not expecting this. However, several Armored cars and Hotchkiss MGs have taken positions along the nearby hill and town and are now overlooking the whole contingent of paratroopers, raining death (hopefully) on them.

Along the front lines, a recon platoon of light tanks and tankettes to the south encounter a motorcycle squad. It might seem that three tanks vs. a motorcycle squad is unfair but remember, these are FRENCH tanks with 7.5mm machineguns.....
To the north another group of recon vehicles approach the german front lines, hoping to catch a glimpse of the attckers.

YOUR TURN :)

Death from above!
Dont' worry, you'll get used to that. :D
I"ll post my move later today, bit busy right now.

Well, you got one para squad...

I got most of your recon on the south flank, I think. Should've picked someone their own size to mess with. :p

The recon up north will catch something, just move them a couple more hexes forward...

Your move

YOUR TURN

Not much contact this turn, repositioned some troops (most repositioned themselves by retreating) Mon Dieu!

Behind the lines, the German paratroopers stand firm as the French AMD armored cars provide to be much inferior compared to SdfKs (Germans)

Up front, I see some Mark IVs advancing towards my MLR. Let's see how my French tanks hold.

This is my first time playing the French, but now I know why they didn't hold the Maginot line!

YOUR TURN :)

French have a really odd view of how to build any vehicle. Must be that mouldy cheese they eat. :D

Not a lot of action this turn, but I see some big juicy targets coming up.

Your turn. :)

Forgot the zip, here it is.

Grrrr

Grrrrrr, those paratroopers are really annoying me! One armored car is lost to a satchel charge (or flamethrower, don't know which)

A brave recon tank up front is blown to bits by a Mark IV. Medium tanks move up the line to meet the growing German threat (I see mostly Mark IIs and IVs.)

More artillery rounds pound behind the and at the front lines, forcing more of my French troops to retreat.!!!!

One thing I notice about the French army is that they are HARD to RallY!!!!!

Panzerwurfminen :D :D
The paratroopers are running out of targets and are now making their way towards their objectives, wondering where the french have gone.

Things are slowly heating up on the front as well. One MC squad tried to sneak up on a Char something and got wiped out. Spotted several other tanks in the centre, think I'll call somebody to shift them ;)
