1. If your fighter runs out of fuel while on a mission (before you can get it back to an airfield) do you lose it? Do you ever get it back?

2. Can you reinforce and/or fuel a fighter/bomber by having it next to an airfield as opposed to directly over it?

You lose the out of fuel fighter and will have an empty core slot for a replacement and you can only upgrade and replace lost points when directly on the airfield hex but you can refuel/rearm on the adjacent hexes.... so you can have 7 aircraft refueling at any airfield at the same time but only one can upgrade and/or replace lost strength points....
