Recommend all AA be able to select AA or AT mode. The M16 (qual .50cal HMGs) were used extensively in the Korean war as infantry support weapons as were the german Wiebelwind (quad 20mm) in WWII.

I posted this too and the response was they may unlock the offensive capabilities of the AA besides the '88. the quad gun definitely needs it

I hope to see this allowed in a future patch.

I would welcome this, but the counter-argument it that it devalues special units with dual purpose (if all AD can do it, the 88 loses it's special flavor) and it's a lot of new art assets.

The 88 is more deadly than the 37mm and 20mm. Those cant take out heavy tanks only the 88. So i dont see how it devalues.

But weren't some of the other AA guns really good at firing at soft targets? I seem to recall reading that the quad's just mowed down infantry. Maybe instead of a switch to AT the AA guns could switch to attack mode but lose their AA capability.

Possible. i only play Axis sides so could care less about Allied AA. The flakvierling or quad was deadly against infantry. see here:
