CC LSA multiplayer IP

In the manual it states:
"In such cases, when the HOST uses
the Close Combat: Last Stand Arnhem Multiplayer Screen to determine
his IP address there will often be two IP addresses shown, the local IP
address followed by the external or gateway IP address."
My PC is behind a router (D-link WBR-2310) but only the internal IP is displayed. I've only been able to play multiplayer by directly connecting my PC to the cable modem. I did try port forwarding on the router but I'm not sure I set it up right... port forwarding UDP 2302 to 2400 and virtual server setup as public and private port UDP 6073.
Do I need to put my PC in a DMZ or is there something else I can do?

Yeah, we did that...but we still not connect until I pulled my router out of the loop. I may have had the wrong ports plugged into my router 'port forwarding'. I redid the port forwarding to match whats in the manual and now the external IP is showing on the screen. We'll give it a shot this weekend to see if we can connect.
My one question was about the manual stating that screen would show 2 IPs, the internal and external. I'm only seeing one, the internal before getting the port forwarding changed, and the external now.

Hey Crosbys,
Actually in re-reading this myself it appears that was incorrectly written. You will not see both addresses displayed together at the same time within the game. I think the intent here was to make the distinction between the two types of addresses that can be found in your router settings and to be sure you're obtaining the correct one. It should not have indicated you'd find both displayed in the game but instead in your router settings, outside the game.
Thanks for pointing it out. If given the opportunity to update the manual the change will be made.
Please let us know if your redone port forwarding is successful in your attempts to connect this weekend.
*EDIT*
Again, re-read the paragraph and I think I see how the person who wrote the text intended the wording to be interpreted even though it doesn't sound clear as currently written. I think they'd intended that the game can display one of two types of IP addresses. Not both at the same time. The important point being that in order to successfully connect you need to provide the joiner with the external gateway IP address, not the local IP address. This paragraph is pointing out that the game does not indicate which one is being displayed so if problems are encountered it may be necessary for the user to verify his external gateway IP address to send to the joiner and that the user needs to be aware of the possibility that the incorrect one may be displayed within the game.
Hope that helps and may be something you consider when attempting to connect with your friend this weekend.

What you may see displayed in the Close Combat games is...
The internal IP address
or
The external IP address
or
Both IP addresses at the same time.
Under what cirumstances each will be shown is not determined but all three have been verified as possible.
Once you have determined what your internal and external IP addresses are you must
1. Let your opponent know your external IP address
and
2. Port forward your router to your internal IP address
UDP 6073
UDP 2302 - 2400

Thanks for clarifying Andrew. I've not yet seen both displayed simultaneously. I've only ever seen external IP or internal IP but never both. That makes more sense with what was written in the manual. It still needs to be written more clearly though. Will add a bug report for it.
