[*]Please submit your ideas in the Distant Worlds Forum and be sure to create a separate thread for your idea (don’t reply to an existing thread).

[*]The submission can be no longer than 1000 words.

[*]In your submission try to explain what the creature is, what it looks like, what it does, anything special about it, and its back story (which needs to fit in with current Distant Worlds lore).

[*]The creature idea has to fit into the paradigm of the Distant Worlds universe. This means don’t submit an idea like a pink floating Cadillac!

[*]Visual aids/concept art are very much encouraged but not required to win.

[*]After the deadline has passed, Matrix Games and Code Force will judge who submitted the best idea.[/ol]

Nice! Interesting to see what kind of creatures people invent.

Man... there is a whole lotta talent out there for this monster contest...

Only one idea per person please. Grammatical mistakes are fine. Please write the best English you can and we'll take care of the rest. [:)]

Creature entries are ALL over the place - from the simplistic (graphical changes to slug, krator, etc), to the rather complex that will require custom scripting as to their appearance and available actions.

What ARE you guys looking for? What level of scripting is of prime importance. Will there indeed be ANY creature scripting?

I wonder if it would be possible to turn "grammar error" into a space creature?

I once wrote a rather popular article about the behavior and diet of the common typo as observed in the wild, so it´s not as far-fetched as it sounds.[:D]

What ARE you guys looking for? What level of scripting is of prime importance. Will there indeed be ANY creature scripting?

Anything is possible, but the practicality of implementing any given creature will be a consideration in determining the contest winner.
