I don't expect multiplayer at all for this game. Not saying that it couldn't happen
further down the road though. But for now, I just don't see it. [:(]

Highly unprobable for current DW, but I could see it as possibility for future DW2.
I personally don't care about MP in 4Xs at all. Maybe if it was coop with other players against significantly stronger AIs. I've always loved coop gamemodes.

Co-Op is great when you have similarly like minded 4x'ers playing with you. Imagine getting a bunch of 6-10 people from this forum together for an epic game? Would be soooo fun.

Thats what i am talkin about. Multi would take this game to the next level. Playin against the AI by yorself is like kissin yor sister, just cant get into that. ill wait for the multi version.[;)]

Are you serious? Single player is no where near that bad lolol.
Either your family is really open minded or you really hate single player haha

No offence, but that analogy is absolute garbage. Many of the worlds best games are SP only.
Anyways, we'll probably have to wait for DW2 for possible MP.

unless i am mistaken, matrix games has no multiplayer games, but i have not tried all of them TBH

Most of our games have multiplayer support, though most are head to head (2 players) but a few support more.
Distant Worlds is very unlikely to be able to support multiplayer in its current iteration. Our focus remains on a single player experience and changing the game to support (and be balanced for) multiplayer would be an extremely large job. In our experience, about 10-20% of players play multiplayer so while there is some benefit, it's rarely something that we "back-fit" to a game after release, it generally has to be part of the original design.
