I've been away backpacking for the past 7 months and come back to find all these new versions! I currently have v.5, how can I upgrade to v.7.1 or whatever it is, without downloading the whole thing again?
cheers Hofton.

Ok here are the links to each update you'll need.
5.0 to 5.01 5.01 to 5.2 5.2 to 6.1 6.1 to 7.0 7.0 to 7.1 this last one can also be found on the MatrixGames download page.

Thanks a lot for those links man, but unfortunatly the v5.2 to v6 didn't work. It sais I need v5.3+ to update to v6.

Disregard the window text that say 5.3 to 6.1 only, the only difference between 5.2-5.3 was a small correction made to the file mech.exe file, in the 5.2-6.1 upgrade this file gets replaced anyway which includes the 5.3 fix which is why the 5.2-5.3 upgrade doesn't exist anymore. If you have a broadband connection you should also get the SPWAW stereo sound upgrade but it is 200mb in size. Here is that link
SPWAW Stereo sound upgrade Trust me on this as I would not mislead you.

If you have any problems please let me know.

I hate to bore you with these trivial maters , but I installed all the patches and it still sais v5.2 on may SPWAW menu screen. Is it possible that it's updated to 7.1 without changing the v5.2 text on the menu screen? If so what can I find in 7.1 that isn't in 5.2 to check that its worked?
If this Query is also answered, I do declare the prodect support truly awesome!!!

Hi Hoff!
Check the sub folders in SPWaW it might of install in a different folder make sure the path to install the updates are the same as you have it on your system. Make sure you delete the Steel.prf file in the save folder also.

Another thing to try is move the mech.exe file in the MatrixGames\SPWAW directory to a safe place, then reapply patchesfrom 5.2 up, some times this file doesn't always get overwritten which is the main game file that contains version text within it.
