Maybe I mixed something up but isn't there a maximum number of units I can put into a formation?
If so, how many?

Pretty sure that limits are:

32 units per formation, maximum.
2000 units per force
300 formations per force

Would be interested in confirmation of total units possible.

For use with PO, the smaller the formation, the more efficient the PO is in handling it. A 32 unit formation is likely to lead to considerable overcrowding (for starters).

Correct on all but :

400 formations per force

I put 32 units in formations pretty often. The reason? Because formations with 32 units will not sub-divide their units.
