Motorised movement rates on roads

i have not managed to find any specific mention of this but I am assuming that if a battalion road column is routed along a road which takes it past another column stationary on that road or moving through it in a different direction , that the rate of movement is reduced .
This would seem a logical effect and would emphasise the need where possible to select different lines of march for units and to rest units off road if the road is shortly to be used by others .
Is such road congestion indeed penalised with reduced movement rate in the game--and if so how severe is the road movement reduction .
Thanks for any insights

They do get tangled up, but it might be a bit lenient right now, and the AI is a bit indecisive so the delays are masked by some inaction... When the response to 'completed' orders is faster (as in the new patch) you should see the effect of minor delays more.

I'd like to see the effects broadened in scope (perhaps not just reducing speed by ~25%) but perhaps 'freezing' both units for 'some time' until traffic control is re-established a proportion of the time that two units are using the same road cells. With increased chances if the affected units are not in the same orders group.

Thanks----interested to see the effects of the new patch with this "quicker response" feature on this issue and indeed on all gameplay with speedier responses----"be afraid .....really afraid....."
