Late Italian fighters

The late Italian aircraft seem way too ineffective. A Fiat G.55 or an Re. 2005 have much the performance of the best Axis piston fighters (better turn capability, equal or better speed, slightly under gunned as compared to a late 109), but show much lower potential in this game. Any way to edit these fighters?

Use TOAWIII equipment editor. I think it comes with the game, doesn't it?

I have not found one if such exists? I don't mind editing a text file or similar if that is the solution, but I don't know where to find the requisite file? I also don't want to corrupt a file by accident if it isn't a text file?

Doing a simple forum search for equipment editor I came up with this link:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.edmiston/toaweqpedit.htm
Clicked on it and brought up the page for the equipment editor.

THanks, I downloaded it and created a new EquipmentModed.eqp file. Now, how do I get a scenario to recognize the new equipment file?

The scenario folder where you got the .sce file and the graphics .bmp file.

You need to create a new folder with the scenario name in the Graphics folder.
Rename the eqp-file using the same scenario-name and place it in the new folder.
Open the scenario in the editor, you get a eqp mismatch error message, save the scenario.

turinotanks2,
Once you start down this slippery slope of editing equipment, you will soon discover that it never ends. Say goodbye to life as you knew it.
