What does fred stand for? i've searched the forums and i've googled and it's baffling to me what it might mean.

FRED stands for "F@%king ridiculous economic disaster".

I think you will find that the scenario hex graphic designers name starts with Fred... In fact according to the credits his name is Frédéric Genot. Some graphics are also named ford... my guess is that this is because the graphic designer who made these graphics is: Steve Ford.
