I have no voice on the briefings for the 39 & 40 DLC campaigns. Sound is otherwise OK. Did they leave the voices out on these?

Yes we decided that to get VO recorded it would require us to double the cost of the DLC's. It would also greatly increase the time it took to produce them. The briefigs were only finalised a few days before completion. Adding VO woudl have added 2-4 weeks to the time line of each DLC. The aim of the DLC was really to make use of the existing content in really interesting ways which is why we can keep the price down.

We will have larger expansions coming and in these we plan to add more unique content like units, terrain, VO etc. These are much larger projects. More about those soon ;)

Even the voice overs that are there in the original campaign are, in my opinion, a bit long-winded; I just skip them (which I never did in PG1). I agree there should be voice overs at the introduction (and END) of every scenario and hope they will trim these down to be entertaining, appropriately dramatic, and effective.

I think they mentioned the cost of voice actors being a reason for incomplete voice overs, but I am sure there are tons of Grad Student Drama Majors who would happily pull this off for cheap (i.e., talking beer and pizza money). Something to think about.

Assuming that we could find them, and the appropriate beer and pizza, a large part of the cost is the recording studio and post-processing. [:)]

Cheers
