AT power of artillery

Hi kameraden wargamer,

I have another question regarding artillery. I wasn't able to find answer in the precedent topics nor in the documentation.
Also in the generic TOAW database, ranged artillery have no AT capacity in their stat but, historically, nearly all guns, and sp guns, had the capacity of firing AT round against armored target with HEAT or AP ammo.
So, my 1st question is : What will happen if I add an AT capacity to gun? Will that value have influence in ranged attack? or just in defence against armored target?
2nd question : In case the TOAW combat engine will misinterpret the AT value, I have this possibility : adding a "virtual AT gun" with an AT capacity and zero soft killing power for each artillery gun. What will be the counter-effect of such adding?

Thank u for the reply

I seem to remember that it may not be found in the manual, but that artillery uses 50% of its AP value for AT value.

Hi Again,

So, that could be the solution to my question. Just I would like to know if the artillery use that "AT" power in ranged fired (would not be really correct) or direct fire (that could be more correct tough, maybe, oversimplified).
And if u know the answer to my question : how would the combat engine interpret a AT value in artillery equipment? in ranged attack or only in direct ones?
Also thank u for that two reply already

Bye
