i've been eye balling this title for awhile i'm 99% convinced i'll be picking this up during the holiday sale, a little concerned about the lack of support for the title but there seems to be alot content. The games seems simple but deep, and from what i've read it's easy to jump in and play, as i don't have alot of time to devote to learn a complicated game system these days and this is a big selling point. I read the product description page and it doesn't mention the scale, i mean hex scale, what distance are the hexes? also the page says the turn scale is 1 day, how does this work as i've seen night turns. How long are the phases, are they each a time increment or are all the phases together one time increment. hope these questions aren't too stupid, but i've never played a game with phase turns and i don't get how much time is passing during the phases.
thx.

Another question: depending on what the scale is, do bigger guns, tanks/mg's have more than 1 hex range?

1. there seems to be alot content.
Yes there is. Covers most of the locations of WW2
2. The games seems simple but deep, and from what i've read it's easy to jump in and play, as i don't have alot of time to devote to learn a complicated game system these days and this is a big selling point.
Yes that is correct. It is the greatest strength of the game.
3. I read the product description page and it doesn't mention the scale, i mean hex scale, what distance are the hexes?
1 hex = 1 k
Most units have 3 green lights meaning they have 3 platoons. Or: most counters are company size
Some counters start a scenario with only 1 or 2 platoons to represent their historical size
4. also the page says the turn scale is 1 day, how does this work as i've seen night turns.
As a rule of thumb, each 24 hour period takes 10 turns. In the winter there are only 2 night turns and in the other months there are 4 night turns. So, the number of turns per 24 hour period depends upon the season
5. How long are the phases, are they each a time increment or are all the phases together one time increment.
They don't have a time span. Each turn goes through a few phases. After Movement Phase is the Direct Fire Phase and then the Assault Phase
6. Another question: depending on what the scale is, do bigger guns, tanks/mg's have more than 1 hex range?
Different artillery have different ranges.
When armour is used in the Direct Fire Phase it has a range of 2 hexes. In the Asault Phase a range of 1 hex

Well I think Joe's just about covered it. Only thing to add is about game support; best described as reactive rather than proactive [;)]
Cheers
