If your defending and you fire during the direct fire attacker phase[as opposed to the direct fire defender phase] do you lose a fort level?, some fort levels dropped and the only reason i can think of is i fired during the direct fire attacker phase, no posture change or movement of any kind. Just looking for confirmation on this, as i could not find anything in the manual on this or i missed it. The manual doesn't seem to address any differences between the direct fire defender or direct fire attacker phases.
thx budd

There is a lot lacking in the manual. Check the thread where the players are creating manual.

I don't know the answer but it would make sense that if you attack, you are leaving your fort bonus area.

No you don't lose the fort status.

Rather, in a hex you m ight have 2 units stacked. One has fort status and the other does not. You need to check both units.
