Performance Issue and Odd Escort Behavior

1) Is anyone else having lag issues on the map especially with Empire influence on?

2) Also! I built a ton of escorts to keep watch on the civilian operations hoping they would attach themselves to the many private freighters traveling the trade routes. I didn't notice if they were shadowing the freighters with any good effect(automation on) when I colonized a marshy planet far in a distant system. As soon as I did so all of my escorts from across the galaxy quit what they were doing and began traveling to this distant planet (out of fuel on the way), then proceeded to immediately leave for another system a good distance away to refuel. After refueling at this third system they returned to the system with the new marsh planet where they were once again out of fuel and did the whole process over again. (several times I might add and for 10 years or more)

Here is a screen when ALL of my escorts abandoned their task to travel halfway through the galaxy to some distant, scarcely populated planet without any bases.

and lastly, here they are returning to the newly colonized and desolate marsh planet again with some still in route to third area for refueling.

and over and over and over!

Very, very interesting. Do you have a save file for this that you could upload please?

Sure do Erik but is there any way to attach a file that is 8.5 megs in size? I tried to upload but the max size is 500k.

Uploaded to ftp file name: Distant worlds Legends from Missouri_Rebel.dwg

As far as slow performance, has this been a widespread issue?

Edit: Guess my specs might be of some help.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30 GHz
Thermaltake FRIO Overclocking Cooler Fan *** (Push/pull so very cool temps though not calibrated)
160 GB Intel 320 Gaming Solid State Disk *** (Includes Windows)
4TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s Raid 1 *** (Matrix games and exe.s reside here)
GigaByte Z68X-UD3H-B3 Motherboard
1.2GB EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 570
8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3/1600MHz memory *** (Using on average 20% available memory)

Yes, i also have (really) bad performances when zoomed out. This has always been the case and it gets worse the more you advance in the game (because you have more pictures displayed).

My specs :
quad core @ 3.5ghz
GTX570
4gb ram
windows 7 64bits

Now don't ask why a few hundreds 2D low-res pictures make a 570 lag [:D]
I'd like better perfs but i got used to it.

My performance hit is mostly in the system view or slightly higher than that. My lag is REALLY bad. So much that I can hardly play it anymore. I've never had a Matrix game that I have wanted my money back, and I own a lot of them, but this might just be the one. Funny how I can play Batman Arkham City and Skyrim on the highest settings (save the broken dx 11 for batman) without a stutter and this game does so bad. Heck, I think it even played better on my laptop than this computer that is way past specs.

Problem with the 570 chipset I wonder?

Funny sig Mysterius.
