In game help text, it says: "you must deploy the resupply ship, than it is immobile and you can refuel you ships"

but, there is no deploy button or choice in any menu of the ressuply ships?

Select the ship. Locate a source, and ctrl-right click. One choice is "deploy". You have to do this on the fuel source itself with the ship selected.

The galaxy map is very nice for hunting the perfect spot. Filter for "known resources" and your fuel type (caslon at start). When you click the yellow dots you see the target details. Then select goto on your choice, and zoom in. If you lose your resupply ship in the process, you should find it by going "back" through buttons above the selection window (or a key I don't know).

There are two fuel types mined by the resupply ship. Hydrogen and caslon. For best storage use it is best to deploy on sources where only the one you want is present.
