BUG in version 2.3?

I have discovered while playing campaigns under version 2.3 (perhaps earlier ones as well) that you cannot repair radio mast, main gun optics damage, or tool kit lost hits between battles. You also can't exchange the tanks out since they don't show up as damaged. That means your vehicles probability to hit is always poor and you don't have a radio for C+C anymore. Certainly these things can be replaced, 'jury-rigged', or fixed in the weeks between battles but the game doesn't allow it. After a year or two, all my vehicles are ending up with '0' fire control. Is this intentional or a bug that needs to be represented as damage between battles so it gets fixed.
Also, I played a battle in early 43 against the Allies and was attacked OVER 50 TIMES by aircraft. I shot down 13 and damaged a dozen more so I know at least 25-30 were involved (multiple attacks?). Considering the cost, that represents about over 5000 selection points in A/C alone not to mention the 80 vehicles and over 1000 men I had to face! Total selection cost must have exceeded 12,000 by a conservative tally. I don't belive that 50+ sorties flown over a small battlefield in a period of less than an hour (3 turns!?) is realistic in this scale of game. Shouldn't an A/C limit be set so the computer can't select such a large number? As a player, I could never get more than three sets of two A/C even with a generous 1000+ selection points as allied, german, or russian. My aircraft have never been available for more than one attack either - maybe I'm picking wrong but I don't think pilots and planes could turn around fast enough to attack two or three times in less than an hour.

The repair bugs are fixed in version 3.

The quirks of enemy point asignment and selection - I'll try to get back to, but actually when Tac Air was used, it was typically employed in squadron strength or better. Also, aircraft cost is adjusted ion ver 3 somewhat

This has been addressed at least twice before. You can deal with this bug by downloading Fred's editor. There is a link to it on the Matrix link page. Look for values that are 0 for some vehicles but > 0 for others. Use the editor to fix the values that are 0 to bring them up to what is standard. It works well.

Did I mention that Fred's editor is one of the best designed interfaces that I've every seen (& I see a lot of them as a telecomunications messaging applications engineer). Its intuitive, clear and easy to use. The only thing I missed at first is that if you change a nuimber in the unit value window, you have to click on retain to save it before you go on to another unit.

OK, maybe just a bit faded.

Hmmm...
I play with ver 3 and I still have this "unrepaired optics" bug. I'm going to download Fred'editor.

Um, huh? I didn't think v3 was out yet. Or is this just one of the Matrix team? Or is the guy just confused?

Confused I think? Ver 3 fixed the problem, and is not out yet.
