I'm looking for a period map showing the area between the Weser & Aller Rivers, between Bremen & Hannover for creating a ~30*30km scenario based on a nicely detailed book i've just finished reading: "No Triumphant Procession: The Forgotten Battles of April 1945" which deals with the 53rd Welch Division's battle with the German 2nd Marine Division. Unusual for a lot of books the writer gives equal info on both the Axis and Allied forces, with brilliant OOBs - almost all the work is done!

I can't find anything online, and without a period map I don't have the enthusiam to start what would otherwise be quite a quick job (well, quick up to the 75% finished stage then i'll leave it half finished...). Any suggestions?

Here's an excellent website for 1:25,000 GSGS Maps.

http://lib.byu.edu/maps/germanmaps/

For example, Rethem:

Can't find any websites that describe the battle but it was defended by a Bn of German Marines first against a hasty Bn attack from the West then a more deliberate attack from the South by another Bn with Armd support.

I also found another site with a-hell-of-a-lot-of US "M501" Series 1:250,000 maps from the 1950's which might be helpful for larger maps:
