I was hoping so as well, from Wiki I found

"Invasion musical theme Each German invasion of a foreign country had an official musical theme that was frequently played for the purposes of Nazi propaganda over the totally government controlled radio stations after the invasion was officially announced to whip up enthusiasm for the military operation among the German population. The theme song for Operation Barbarossa was Les preludes by Franz Liszt"

In general the German Newsreel during WW2 used musical scores to reinforce dramatic battle scenes; naturally, in a very cunning propagandistic way.

There scores all got names, e.g. The Battle goes on, etc.

Examples can be found here:

Quote: A collection of remarkable orchestral suites composed and synchronized for the German newsreel in the years 41-45.

Made according to the rule laid down by Goebbels, that the featured material has to be a merge of:

- Picture
- Music
- Commentary
- Background Sound

Rule says, if the picture does not reflect the required propaganda issue, it should be enhanced
either by an extra portion of heroic music, or an extra aggressive commentary,in most cases pure lies...

The Deutsche Wochenschau also used classical pieces for the desired 'effects'.
