When is a siege not a siege?

It is curious that the PanzerCorp in Kaluga is slowly being ground down by the effects of siege while the 6-0 armor to its west is also surrounded but does not suffer degradation because of siege. It seems that cities are good for defence against assault but you will live longer if you are besieged in open terrain. Is this correct?

Hehe, I guess if you look at it that way....
But in practice, if you are beseiged in a city, that means you are surrounded on 6 sides. That city defense bonus is probably the only thing keeping them from wiping you out immediately. Put your same defensive unit out in the open and.... you'll be wiped out immediately via an attack from 6 sides.

Also the open terrain is not so important for providing the supply and waging the war.

Siege success chances also go up if you have air assets nearby.

Remember that if you are surrounded you are also out of suppy; that alone is significant degradation.

Yes, it can be. Tac bombers are able to provide supplies
