Kiddytoto's Graphic Mod v1.01
Hi all, since the colors of the stock maps of the great wargame are too light for me, I made this mod for myself but I'm willing to share my works with you commanders.
The goal of this mod is aimed to enhance the whole terrian art, also make the maps as easy to read as possible, as well as a dozen little things changed such as counters, selected hex, grid, etc. There are three portions included in my graphic mod as follows:
1. Kiddytoto's terrain mod (the main)
2. Kiddytoto's Nazi Flags mod (historical accurate, your option)
3. Kiddytoto's German air units graphic mod (instead of the cartoon style)
Installation
First thing first, always make a backup of the stock folders before you overwrite anything! There are two ways to install my mods:
For manually install
1. Download my mod, unzip it somewhere/desktop, there are three subfolders in that folder and they are:
* Kiddytoto's terrain mod (the main)
* Kiddytoto's Nazi Flags mod (historical accurate, your option)
* Kiddytoto's German air units graphic mod (instead of the cartoon style)
2. Once, copy all the three graphics folders that are under the three main folders into your game root directory and overwrite everything. The directory should be something like this: C:\Matrix Games\Decisive Campaigns The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris
For JSGME install/ For those who don't know how to use JSGME
To install my mod via JSGME is not absolutely required but recommend. However, whether manually install or via JSGME, you need to decompress that 7z file you download first! OK, pretty simple, here we go!
1. Download JSGME
2. Copy "jsgme_setup" or something like it into your game root directory and double click it to begin setup. The directory should be something like this: C:\Matrix Games\Decisive Campaigns The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris.
3. Once, a yellow JSGME icon shows up, execute it!
4. Once, a popup doalog box asks you to create a "mod" folder. Do it then close that box. JSGME setup complete!
6. Copy these three folders into that mod folder just created by JSGME
7. Now double click that yellow JSGME icon , you will see that tree mods list on the left side of that box.
8. Select and enable them!
9. Start your game and enjoy!
PS: 7z is a compressed archive file format of 7-ZIP

This mod is still work in progress, any suggetions will be welcome. If you want to mod my mod, feel free but please don't forget to credit me.
Have fun! commanders

Great, all looks much more "real" and more colorful !
Can you maybe upload it to the Matrix-Database ?
I think there is a database for custom scenarios & mods...this would fit perfectly !

Hi Wiggum
Sorry took so long to reply since I'm on a long vacation.[8D]
I couldn't upload my mod like an attachment to the Matrix database since they limit uploaded file size , but have uploaded on "file-upload" you recommended as follows:
http://www.file-upload.net/download-406 ... 01.7z.html
Also I add this new download link on this thread see post #1. Thank you for your suggestion [:)]
Good Luck

Please try the mirror2! I just download it a few minutes ago. Note that there are some "download buttons" on that download page, but please click this one as I point and it should work. Oh if someone can offer me a better upload site I will be appreciate.
Good luck

This map mod is great! Improves the map a lot, I couldn't use the standard one anymore. The Nazi flag is a nice addition, TBH when first playing the game I was thinking "what the hell are these French units doing in my OOB" because using the Reichsflagge is not only totally not fitting, it is also turned the wrong way in the game[&:]

Kiddytoto,
If you are still here...I hope you are planning on giving DC:CB the same map treatment!

The first impression of DC:CB(beta) is ok, better than DC1. I'll work on it if necessary.

Yes, the map is a bit bland in DC:CB. It could use your touch...[:)]

The mod looks great! [X(]
I am having some trouble with the file once it is downloaded. What decompresor should be used? The file is not one I recognize and I tried adding the .zip extension but still couldn't open it.
Any suggestions?

Ok I'm a dummy but - there is a text box at startup as to which version I want. When I selct the modded version it say their is a problem.
I purchased the game, and downloaded the mod and the latest [non beta] upgrade at the same time so do I need to install the mod before the upgrade or...?

you used the import zip button in the game to install the mod? The best way is too use JSME to mod swap. I'm not sure this mod will import properly using the in game import zip function. You could drop it in your graphics folder and overwrite the files, but the easiest way is to use JSME. See the above post from me with the link to another thread that explains how to install and use JSME, you'll be glad you did. I use it for 6 different games to swap mods in and out. If you read the info on JSME and still have questions i'll try to help you best i can. Frankly, now i would re-install the game from scratch and use JSME, or you can play the stock game by choosing the stock game at startup that should still work.

I used JSME and was very impressed - that doesn't mena of course that I sued it correctly! I'll print off your article and try it on a clean install after I finish my first test game.

Strange that the box popped up if you used JSME, never seen that before. You have the MOD folder in your main game directory and unzipped the mod there? Here's how JSME looks for me, when mod installed. Any other questions, ask away.
